Stop…80′s time!

What a difference a day makes, even though I started the day off with a little mishap.  My girlfriend/fellow newlywed/native Florentine Laurie Beth and I catch up over coffee before work on Tuesdays and we BOTH forgot and woke up late.

Onto the reason for the season (or day, whatever, it doesn’t rhyme).  Today is called “Why Madonna rocked it out in the 80s and her style is amazing.”

Like, welcome to the inaugural edition of Totally 80s Tuesday!  Since I was born in 1986, I believe that all of the awesome music, blue eyeliner, and Aquanet my parents exposed me to has shaped me into the 80s freak that I am today.  And seriously, I’m named after Whitney Houston.  (You think I’m kidding.) (And Mom, you can deny it forever but guess what songs were released in 1986?  “How Will I Know” & “Saving All My Love For You.”  Point Whitney.)

Since we’ve already delved into music (and why would we ever switch topics from 80s music?), let’s remember one of the greats:

TEARS FOR FEARS.

I know that they may be on your radar from Adam’s incredible cover of Mad World last week on American Idol, but I want to point you towards my favorite Tears for Fears song of all time.  No, it’s not Shout or Everybody Wants to Rule The World.

Watch the video for the one and only Head Over Heels.  It will change the way you think about libraries forever.

Welcome to the all-new-and-improved Meade Feed!  If you’ve been reading for a while, you know that I’ve switched layouts a few times.  I still wasn’t happy with the result and knew that I’d never truly be satisfied until I used my fledgling HTML skillz to host and develop my own site.  So here we are!  I’m going to keep the old blog alive so that we can all go back and reminisce, but from here on out, point your browser to www.themeadefeed.com and make sure to update your RSS feed/Google Reader.  There will be minor changes (I’d like to refer to them as “sprinkles”) over the next few weeks as I tweak this baby to perfection, but what you see right now is mostly what you’re going to get.
