Since I am OCD about everything Christmas right now, don’t you just LOVE this idea to display your Christmas cards?! Too cute! It’s from House and Home.

Oh snap!
Blogging to you live this evening from Livingston’s new swivel rocking chair!
And guess what? It’s vintage.
And guess what else? My mom snagged it for only $100!
My nursery decorators (AKA my mom and her friend Tammy) are currently hanging drapes in the nursery and Kris and I are cracking out on the laptops. I hear drilling… I’m impressed that they know how to do this.
I’ll post pics of the progress tomorrow!
Now it’s time for… the 30 Day Blog Journal!
I missed yesterday’s edition – Day 11 – a recent photo of yourself!
So the two were taken a couple of days ago, pre-haircut.
And this one was taken this morning, post-haircut!
Now, Day 12 – something you’re OCD about.
This is a confession. I think I seriously have OCD about electronics and fires. I check our house multiple times before I leave (every time). The iron, any laptops that may be plugged in, fans that are on, the oven or coffee maker or toaster oven being on. Before I leave work, I make sure that the cords of the laptop aren’t tangled. At night, I’ll even get out of bed to make sure that we didn’t leave the oven on.
Now tell me if that isn’t real OCD.

Staycation: Wednesday
I wish I had the energy to go into great detail about what happened yesterday, but I am currently in my bed with a Beagle Bull, a sleeping husband, and a Capri Sun and I’m a little worried that Livingston will have trouble finding room when it’s her turn to snuggle among the crowd. So I guess I’m saying that I’m tired.
…?
Anyway, yesterday, we smelled something funny, heard some odd noises in our pipes, and concluded that there was a major block somewhere in our sewer line and we needed to vacate the premises. I love our old house, but it’s times like these where I want to scream I’M ON VACATION GIVE ME A BREAK and it be fixed automatically by the Old House Fairy.
So we spent the night at my parents’ house. The plumbers showed up an hour and a half late this morning, but it’s fixed.
And now the Staycation continues…

These are my confessions…
Only a few of you probably got that Usher reference.
When, in fact, it’s very odd that that song just popped into my head because I am not an Usher fan.
Sorry for the tangent. It’s 6:18 p.m. and I’ve been a working woman all day, a grocery shopper, a Beagle Bull mother, and a wife to a husband who is going CRAY-CRAY editing a never-ending video project. Not to mention PREGO with our BABY GIRL!
ANYWAY.
Thank you for your sweet comments. We are so insanely excited and shocked and nervous and psyched!
So, back to the confessions.
Ya’ll, our house is a DISASTER ZONE. Like… so much so that I feel that I need to take pictures and post them on this blog so that you can hold me accountable to cleaning up our LIFE. There are piles of clothes in every room. That’s not difficult to accomplish since there are only 6 rooms in our house, but still. Our housekeeper hasn’t been here in over 3 weeks so our potties have not been cleaned. Nor the floors vacuumed (except for when I spilled sugar on the floor of the kitchen and had a panic attack about an influx of roaches descending on our house).
Not to fear, though. We will be taking a weeks’ vacation next week that we like to call a little “stay-cation.” We’re going to stay in Florence and whip the Little Bungalow into shape so that we can begin preparing Baby Meade’s nursery. The clothes will be folded and put away…. some even being banished to the attic. My closet, the worst disaster zone in the house, will finally be tackled and tamed. Hey, we may even get a little wild and plant some shrubs.
I feel convicted that I need to photograph this mess so that I can air our dirty laundry. Pun intended. Don’t you love the English language. So check back and you won’t feel so bad about the 2 weeks worth of laundry sitting in your basket.
Except for you, Ms. Overachiever, whoever you are. How do you do it? Personally, I value my sleep.

Bedroom Makeover UPDATE!
I know I’ve been complaining about it for-ev-ah.
Well folks, it is complete.
Seriously! When we returned from our second anniversary trip to Charleston this weekend, my parents and some of their friends had given us the BEDROOM MAKEOVER!
Here she is!
So… what do you think!? Next up… project NURSERY!

So yes, project Bedroom Makeover began yesterday. Whoo!
First off, here is the headboard:
Super cute, right? Next, we hit up Bed, Bath, and Beyond for a white duvet cover and bedskirt. Guess who I caught testing out the display beds?
PS – We had a $25 credit left over from returning wedding gifts. Holla!
He got a treat at the checkout counter for being a trooper and shopping with his wifey!

Bedroom Makeover Update.
Well.
I certainly haven’t gotten ANY. WHERE. with our bedroom, except for managing to fold and hang all of our clean clothes tonight.
That is an accomplishment.
I’ve started to gather inspirational photos, similar to the one seen in this post. But I just want to highlight this room from Little Green Notebook. I lurrrrrrve this room! While you’re there, you should check out the entire blog. I promise it will become one of your favorites!

design = love.
I haven’t done a design post in a long time. Honestly, I want to apologize for the lack of creativity in my posts lately. I have been using all of my creative juices on my work and when I get home, I’m spent! The past couple of Saturdays, I’ve woken up and gloriously searched the internet for home design. Specifically, I’m scouring nursery ideas. I can’t get an early enough start… I want to have all of my design files in a row whenever Mr. Meade and I decide to start expanding our family.
So here’s some of the stuff I’ve discovered over the past few weeks!

I LOVE this collage wall. I think that Kris and I are going to hang photos like this in our bedroom.

Isn't this playroom ADORABLE? So sweet and classic.

Can't you see them kiddos piled up at this table, whining about homework? Ha.
