monday.

So hey, it’s Monday. It’s 7PM, and we are going to throw some stuff on the grill. Kris just came in and asked what sides we were having (so that he can gauge how long he needs to wait to fire ‘er up), and I’m all like, on the couch under blankets being emo. “Squash and something.” That was my response. Que romantico.

I am under blankets because I am exhausted, but I did SO MUCH LAUNDRY yesterday and that is a feat. Not that I don’t have tons more, but it just feels good to have a clean closet floor.

I want to add that if you are looking for a cinematic adventure tonight, you should probably rent The Sum of All Fears, with an old school Ben Affleck. We are into “Harrison Ford as the President”-ish movies, and it was right up our alley (and the perfect Sunday afternoon flick, accompanied by Starbucks Coffee ice cream, natch.) (Sorry Mom.)

We spent the remainder of our evening yesterday YouTubing even more old school Busta Rhymes videos. Anyone remember WOO HA! WOO HA! No? I didn’t either. BUT. It was an enlightening experience and I have been rapping Busta all day long in my pantyhose and corporate attire, complete with rapper moves. I think my coworkers thought I’d gone a little crazy. Plus I had to squeeze a stress-kidney for about 30 minutes today. Long story, but I’m glad that we have promotional items like stress-kidneys laying around the office for just those moments when I feel like I’ve been pushed off an emotional cliff.

WELL FOLKS, I am off to discover side dish #2. Send warm wishes (or dishes…tee hee) my way.

friday.

happy friday loves.

though i wish i could say, “it’s the weekend!” …i can’t, because i have an interview later tonight with a family for work. so i will tell you, “it’s the weekend!” tomorrow.

speaking of tomorrow, the hubs and i are having our first yard sale in the morning! i made highly visible signs to direct folks to our house, and we have accumulated MAD STUFF. seriously. most of the clothing items were generously donated by my mother, so it’s not just a yard sale – it’s more like a boutique shopping experience in my front yard.

i had a snort attack today when i read the pioneer woman’s daughter’s (confusing, i know) iphone text exchange, featuring lines from one of the funniest movies ever, napoleon dynamite.

snort snort snort! silent laughs all around! (i am the queen of the silent laugh. however, my whole body shakes.)

the next couple of months for us are going to be crazy as kris either has a wedding video shoot or i have work engagements. every. weekend.

i laugh when i hear people talk about “spring break.” or rather… i snort.

“you are ___ years out of college, and you’re going on spring break?” ::snort::

in other news, the flowers are blooming which makes florence a prettier place to live. thumbs up.

it’s almost the weekend…

Wednesday.

So I think I’ve recovered from the health care vote (please don’t get me started on Joe Biden’s choice remarks as he tossed to President Obama… A PR NIGHTMARE, but then again, afterward, the press secretary tweeted “And yes, Mr. Vice President, you’re right…,” so maybe they don’t care after all. WHAT-EVS.)

I feel like the spring has breathed new life into our neighborhood! Everyone is out gussying up their yards, working on their houses, and chatting with friends. My very pregnant bestie Laurie Beth and I took a “meander” around the ‘hood tonight, then Kris and I hung out with our neighbors (who, btw, just started a blog and you have to check it out!!) and I got to hold their bebeh for quite a while. I definitely got my baby fix for the day :) Next, we gave ol’ Nimmyroo a bath (HE STUNK.) and now I’m cooking dinner. PHEW! (Curried beef in a raisin and carrot sauce over rice, if you’re interested.)

LOST was insane in the membrane last night, and Kris is convinced that someone different than the normal guys edited it because it was so good. I felt like it was the best episode in a long time. I like that we are finally getting answers – but I do wish that we’d met Jacob and Dr. Evil way before this season. I enjoy the duo a lot because it adds dramatic tension – not just the normal Kate/Jack/Sawyer drama. Plus, RICHARD’S ACTING WAS OFF THE CHAIN LAST NIGHT! Lots of Oscar-worthy acting this season.

Adios amigos. I’m off to make sure the beef isn’t burning. Yikes.

Comments from last night.

I would like to thank House Republican Leader John Boehner for his very heartfelt speech.

And that’s all I have to say about that.

I feel like a bulleted list may be more helpful in this situation.

  • Some days I get a little too fired up over politics.  Today is one of those days.  And I’m looking at you, Nancy Pelosi.
  • We had a meeting at Starbucks today and I had a dark cherry mocha.  I give it a C-.
  • Nimbus, Kris, and I are all in the bed right now (it is 7:50 p.m.) and in lieu of making dinner, I am eating pita chips and Kris is living off of Emergen-C drinks.
  • I was all ho, hum, type-ity the press release today then BAM!  It’s TUESDAY!  LOST!
  • I have a pile of clean laundry on my floor to last a week or five and seriously, I could care less if it’s folded right now.
  • I am substantially less fatter than this time last year.
  • I am not interested in joining any alumni councils at this time, thankyouverymuch, I have a job and a ministry and a dog and a large pile of clean laundry to fold, and I don’t have the energy to make my husband dinner.
  • On second thought, cheese toast sounds good…

If he wore a pedometer…

… he would clock in 30+ miles a day, I betcha.

There are two switches on ol’ Nimbus Meade.

On…

and off.
