What day is today? Thuraturday?

To say that we’ve enjoyed our Staycation is an understatement.  It has been A. MAZ. ING.  My wild-up British grandmother called me yesterday to see if I’ve “gotten anything productive done this week,” and the answer is YES!  We (Kris haha) have dug a flower bed in the front of the house and planted some flair.  We’ve cleaned out Livingston’s closet and assembled her crib (WITHOUT arguing)!  We tackled our insane laundry situation which took an entire day to accomplish, and we’re still working on it.  We drove to Moncks Corner and back to celebrate Brielle’s “Gotcha Day.” AND we registered for baby goods!

Oh yes – and purchased a body pillow.  LOVE it.

There are so many women I know who are around my age and pregnant right now, or have just had a baby.  It is really awesome to live in a town where we can support each other and experience motherhood together!

Now, I have a confession to make.  I used to look at maternity clothes and get sooo excited about them because of the cute baby bump.  Now that Livingston’s bump has emerged, I’m not looking at maternity clothes the same way anymore!  I want to be able to buy normal clothes!  It’s almost time for Fall shopping and I’m getting kind of sad that I can’t wear any of the new cute stuff. The only thing that I can really wear that’s “normal” is shoes, and even then, the precious heels for next season are impractical for me to teeter-totter around in!  I’ve been eyeballing some flat oxford styles, and I really want to find a great pair of designer maternity jeans.  Maybe a shopping trip to Charlotte is in store.

Goodnight!

  1. soo excited your having a little girl- they are soo much fun and you will LOVE dressing her up=) it’s like playing dress-up everyday- especially once they have enough hair to really do something cute and fun! Enjoy every minute of the pregnancy- it flies by and you will be holding Livingston before you know it=)

  2. Hey Whitney,

I have a friend who is pregnant right now and instead of buying maternity clothes she just gets bigger and bigger sizes. (and she is having twins so she got big quick!) Obviously everything doesn’t fit so she has to try on, but she has some of the cutest “maternity wear” of anyone I’ve seen and it is cheaper to buy her clothes at Forever 21 or somewhere similar then in the maternity section. That might help this fall!

  3. Hi Elizabeth! That has actually been my strategy so far – and it works really well with tops and flowy dresses! But with pants, I’m already having to wear maternity styles. I can wear my Bella Band with my old jeans, but they’re pretty uncomfortable. I’m going to keep searching for “regular” clothes that provide room for this bump, though, because the styles are SO much better!!

  4. Thanks Rebecca! We are excited too!
